hosted by Verrill, One Federal Street, Boston, MA
4:30 pm Keynote and Panel
6:00 pm Networking Reception To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, deployment of clean energy technologies, both in the U.S. and globally, must be rapidly scaled up at unprecedented levels. Yet, historically, technology-driven transformations have often caused widely disparate economic, demographic, social, and cultural impacts with the worst imposed on the most vulnerable in society. This result is not inevitable. Simultaneous with advances in addressing climate change, there is also a growing emphasis and understanding of environmental injustice. Achieving Justice in the Clean Energy Transition – International, National and New England Perspectives will discuss policies and programs at the intersection of climate and environmental justice. Topics covered include: Just transition policies and programs, examples around the world Keynote Speaker: Shalanda Baker, Director of Economic Impact and Diversity, U.S. Department of Energy
